Garness Jones recruiting experienced surveyors and graduates to maintain momentum in exciting new era

Garness Jones is looking to recruit both highly-experienced commercial surveyors and ambitious graduates as the business expands and heads into an exciting new era.

Currently celebrating 25 years in business, we have demonstrated our strength and expertise over the past 18 months as our team has played a key role in ensuring many key regional developments in the Humber region have continued to progress through unprecedented times, as well as handling property deals worth millions of pounds.

Now, with the business appointed on continuing developments including Hammonds of Hull, Melton West and Kingswood’s Monks Way Retail Park, more busy times are ahead.

Managing Director Dave Garness says plans are being forged to ensure the business ‘remains on the front foot’, and with that in mind, says it is the right time to recruit fresh faces into the company.

“We’ve got a great team here who have done a tremendous job over the past 18 months in particular to ensure we have continued to provide the best possible service to clients throughout what have been unprecedented times," he said.

“Importantly, we’ve contributed to ensuring continued investment and development in our region, something we are really proud of.

"Our commercial agency business, which handles retail, leisure, office, industrial and land investment, has had an outstanding year, and we have seen extremely high levels of activity over the past few months also.

“As a business we have always prided ourselves on being on the front foot and the standard of customer service we provide, so to ensure we continue meeting the expectations we have of ourselves we now need to add to our team.”

Mr Garness says the business is looking to recruit both experienced surveyors with knowledge and experience of commercial property values in the Hull and Humber region, Red Book Standard RICS valuation and varied bank lending reports, as well as recent graduates looking to take their first career steps in commercial property.

“We’re keen to add both experience and youth to our team as we have that across the business now and we have found it to be an environment where people can learn quickly from working alongside leading industry experts, and be offered professional development," he said.

“We ensure graduates are fully supported through all their relevant training and qualifications and are proud to be a business which invests in its people, giving those who show potential the opportunity to fulfil it with senior positions. It has been this approach which has helped us grow various stands to our work.”

Complete commercial and residential property management services now offered

Garness Jones has expanded in recent years and now boasts a commercial property management department which lists sites including JR Rix & Sons’ five-storey waterfront offices and the Hammonds of Hull building as clients.

Our residential lettings management business, Garness Jones Residential, supports professional lettings landlords in all aspects of their portfolio management and has also grown significantly, with developments such as King William House in Hull on our books.

The business also provides block management services for leasehold residential complexes, including Hull’s Fruit Market for Wykeland Beal, the new luxury Alexandra House development in Hornsea, Queens Court in Hull, St Mary’s Manor in Beverley and Raywell House in the East Riding.

Mr Garness added: “We’ve effectively reached a point where we have three very different areas of the business all performing strongly, which is very pleasing.

“There are plans ahead to continue our development and growth in all areas, so there are exciting times ahead as we come to the end of our 25th year, and start planning and shaping the next 25.”
