We were delighted to see plenty of positive media coverage recently relating to a deal which has seen a successful and growing local company agree to lease 33,000sq ft of office space in the Hammonds of Hull development.
Call centre specialist ResQ has confirmed it is to take the entire first floor of the historic building, in a move which will give it an extra 500 work stations.
This move will allow the business to expand its partnership with telecoms giant Vodafone and take on more staff, whilst continuing to also operate from its existing city premises in George Street.
In times when many have questioned the future demand for office space following all that has happened this year, this is a deal which places huge confidence in that market – and importantly in Hull as a city.
Indeed, I can’t remember a bigger office letting in Hull city centre over the past 15 years, so the significance of this should certainly be noted.
The news also reflects hugely positively on the Hammonds of Hull development overall, and the clear benefit to Hull of developing high-quality office space so close to the city’s rail station, providing easy access for employees and clients visiting from other cities.
Deal was first agreed in February before first lockdown
Significantly, this is a deal which was first agreed back in February, before the country went into the first lockdown due to Covid-19.
Despite all the uncertainty over the months between then and now, all parties involved remained in constant dialogue, ensuring we all worked together to end with the positive result for all that we can celebrate now.
There is more positive news just around the corner at Hammonds of Hull too.
We can confirm the second floor of the development has already been reserved, and the Artisan Market is also set to open early next year. The boost provided by ResQ’s commitment gives us great confidence in filling similar office space on the third and fourth floors.
On any project such as this collaboration and a willingness to support and do business is key, and we have seen that from all parties involved.
So it is congratulations and good luck to ResQ, and credit and thanks to site owners Redefine Paragon Hull Ltd, managing agents Salmia Property Management, lawyers Clarion Solicitors and Gosschalks Solicitors, Chameleon Business Interiors, and building consultants LHL Group for helping all to deliver this result.
