A successful East Yorkshire self-storage business has opened a new facility in Hull as part of a new development on a site described as ‘perfect’ given its location.
Store More Self Storage was established in 2016, offering 24-hour storage to businesses, residential customers and students.
The business provides flexible space in which goods are stored in alarmed and CCTV protected premises, but always accessible via pin codes for clients 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
Having enjoyed success at his first site in Willerby, which opened in 2016, the Self-Storage Association approved business now has a base in Hull, on a site ideally located to major road networks, homes, businesses and retail parks.
Essex-based developers turned to Garness Jones to find right tenant
Store More Self Storage has taken the final premises on a site which has been developed by Essex-based Burney Group.
Founded by investor and developer Daren Burney in 1997, it has built a significant portfolio of properties nationwide, actively seeking and acquire selected sites and buildings for development.
In recent years it has worked increasingly in the north and north east, including developing a 56-bed Travelodge in Boston, Lincolnshire.
The Clough Road site has been developed over two phases with a drive through Starbucks and a Greggs store opening last year.
At 11,000 sq ft, the premises taken by Store More Self Storage are the largest on the development, and Paul White, Agency Director at Garness Jones, says it was important to find the right tenant to complete the project.
“The Burney Group have enjoyed success in recent years by spotting sites which provide a good development opportunities and are ideal for drive through businesses, as we have seen here,” he said.
“They turned to our local expertise on this site as they needed to find a good tenant for the largest unit, one which provided an ideal location for a growing business which would benefit from such a central location.
“This site came around at the perfect time as the owner of Store More Self Storage was looking for a new Hull facility, and given the site sits within a 15 minute drive for around 270,000, and is close to Hull city centre, it is ideal.

Store More Self Storage aims to make storage easy and hassle free for those who need it, providing 24-hour access to stored goods for clients in individually alarmed rooms which are accessed via unique pin codes. Its sites are covered by 24 Hour CCTV.
